School Trips

Okay, so I have one very important question that I need to ask; have you EVER had such an awesome adventure on an awesome bus trip that you couldn't wait to go back home to tell all of your awesome friends about it?? No? Me neither.. Well, okay, actually, there were a couple times where my school went on a class trip, but I don't think any of them were that special...if you don't count the last one on this list. But, before I tell you though, I thought I would first share another completely random story that I have because why not.
One time, our school went on this field trip to a botanical garden, and let me tell you, it wasn't that special. So, okay, the first part of the trip was pretty normal; we walk inside this place (and I can't remember the name of it, so we're just going to call it...the discovery place at NC... we'll go with that) So, we walk in, we get to meet some animals; hamsters, butterflies, a venus flytrap, etc... And then, this dude comes in, with a snake coiled around his shoulders. Now, I'm not usually scared of snakes (venomous or not), but can you just imagine if the snake suddenly slithered away and just straight up attacked someone in the crowd? I don't know about you, but I'd be terrified. This is also why I never go to the snake section of pet stores, by the way. Personally, I don't mind snakes. I'm just afraid of holding one and having it bite off my hand. Not that I'm discouraging anyone from having a
pet snake of course, just saying.
Let's see; botanical gardens, dangerous snakes, where were we? Oh yeah, if you read my other stories, then keep reading because I haven't finished yet. Out of all the school trips I have been on, this one was the best one yet. One time, I almost got left behind at an amusement park. So, okay, the first part of the day went fairly normal; plenty appeared on the day of the trip and then evryone boarded the bus. The bus drove for miles until we finally came. When we arrived though, it was dark, it was ominous, it was the perfect setting for hallow- you guys...it took us FOURS hours to get there. You know how long it's supposed to take just to get from the mountains of NC to the park? Two and a half hours! It's supposed to only take only two and a half hours to get there. After spending a day strolling around and getting hyped up, we walked along until we stopped by a café. I was sure of where everyone was until I didn't know where anyone was anymore. Long story short, I lost track of everyone from my group because a) one person decided it would be a fun idea to ditch us to go on a rollercoaster and b) the second two people left to find the first person who ditched us to go on a rollercoaster. So then, it was up to me to find my way out. Luckily, though, I've been to the park a thousand times. Although, that didn't really help because I still had no clue where I was. So, after spending an hour running blind (because it was completely dark outside and I literally couldn't see anything in front of me), I eventually made it back on the bus and felt glad when I did. For the rest of the time, we rode on until we made it back to college. If there's anything I learned from this, it's that you should never

ride with the handle bar facing up.
In retrospect, it probably would've been wiser to stay on campus. Then again, I would've never been able to know what it would've been like to almost fall off a ride if I stayed..
