Stories I wrote when I was ten
Me: *Sits down in an office chair while looking straight at a camera* Hey guys! So, I have some exciting news to share.. are you ready to hear it?? I started a video script series!!.. on my blog. So, I had this a idea a while ago actually, I didn't want to do a youtube channel just because I knew it would take so much longer to get the editing done and everything and that's how I came up with this genius idea of turning a video into a script and that's how this series came to be. So, I was going to make this long introduction before jumping straight into the video, but I don't really feel like it so we're just going to jump straight into the video. So, for those of you who may not be yet aware, I did graduate from college about a few months ago. I've since moved back home mostly because of the whole coronavirus pandemic and everything. When I moved back though, I was going through some of my old stuff when I found this *holds up a black camouflage notebook * Now, I gotta be honest; I feel like I have an iconic memory because everytime I find something, it's like I almost already know what it is. This notebook has every story that I have ever wrote in fifth grade language arts class. The reason why I wanted to share this with you guys is because I just really needed to find something to start this series off. Well, here some stories that I wrote when I was ten.."
Me: "The first story is about a talking cracker. Yes, a cracker... talking. Now, keep in mind, I was ten when I wrote this so expect it have things that might not make any sense, as they probably should. After all, things don't always make sense in a ten year old's mind. Actually, instead of telling you what I wrote, how about I tell you why I wrote this. So, this one came from my fifth grade language arts class. Apparently, we (a bunch of ten-year-olds) were asked to write a non-fictional story that had to include at least one element of fiction. So, what happens when you ask a class full of ten-year-olds to write non-fictional stories that had to include at least one fictional thing?"
Me: "Well, you get something like this:"
Story #1: The Cracker
"It seemed like a normal day at school. We were working in the classroom. I was eating my snack, when suddenly my crackers started talking to me! they told jokes, they told storys, I whispered to them, saying "stop" but they didn't stop. I poped out of my chair, ran in circles, and paniced. When I walked to the teacher, and told her what happened, she fell to the floor. And when I told everyone else what happened, they fell to the floor too. I tried to make the cracker stop talking by wishing it would disappear and it worked. I don't want to see a cracker talking ever again!"
And here's the second story...
Story #2: The snow day
"One day, it was snowing outside. So I decided to go out. It was like a giant white blanket. I wore a red hat, with a purple coat and black gloves. The tiny snow drops looked like feathers. So, me and my friend decided to go sledding. I grabbed the sled and we were sledding. While we were sledding, I heard foot steps. Me and my friend froze for a moment. tip toe, tip toe, I started to hear. I went to see what it is. AAhh!! a SNOWMAN! But it wasn't just any ordinary snowman, it was MY SNOWMAN!"
And we never did find out what happened to us or the snowman..
here's another one...
Story #3: The ant story
"One day, when I woke up I found that I was as small as an ant! I couldn't just jump out of bed. So I thought for a moment. Suddenly, I had an idea. I saw a firetruck on my bed, and thought I could use it. I went inside the firetruck, pushed on the break, And drove. Suddenly, AAAhh!!! I said when I saw the edge of my bed. I quickly pushed on the break. The truck quickly stopped. Then, I thought I could use my giant blanket as rope. So I rolled it up, tied the edge to something and slided myself down. but the edge of the rope I tied it to, fell of. Now the rope stayed on the floor, and I stayed on the bed. "now what?" I thought. I started to scratch my chin, and tapped my foot. I got it! I said. I put one pillow on the floor, one pillow in the middle, and one pillow on the bed as if making the whole thing into a slide. It was hard to lift, so I tried my best. When I was finally done, I sat on the pillow, Slided, And headed down to breakfast. I had a smile on my face, Skipping exitly."
And another...
Story #4: The baseball game
"Josh is in his stands, his face was fierce his hand threw the ball as hard as energy. Mrs. Blake swang the bat as hard as she could. She spinned. And she missed! Strike 1. Josh got in his position again, threw the ball, and swing! Mrs. Blake was trying to win this time. When she finally swang the bat, she missed again! Strike 2! It was her last chance to win. Josh threw the ball again, And the ball went up in the air. Up, up, up it went. down, down, down. this time the ball went right through Mrs. Blake! The crowd was going wild and cheering! Strike 3 and your out! Said the coach. It was the end of the game. it was 3-0. Josh had won."
And finally...
Story #5: The king and his castle
"One day, When I woke up, I glanced outside The window, my hands were rubbing my eyes. Suddenly, my mouth fell open, my eyes got wide, and I just stared. Cause what I saw was, a giant castle. The castle had red stripes, with an orange color on it. I jumped to the door, and rushed, outside to see the inside of the castle. When I finally got to the castle, I looked inside of it. The castle that I saw was pretty old: it had dusty floors, a chair that layed in the corner which had cobwebs, and spider webs all over. AAhhh!! I said. A tons of bats flew over my head. I tiptoed even farther. The next thing I saw, was a king. He was pacing Because he was worried, about gold. I asked, "How can I help?" The king answerd that I should find a knight, and go on a quest. So I grabbed a knight and and a swored. The following day, We were on a quest. Meanwhile while we were still finding the gold, I accidently, lost my swored. in the distence, I saw something sharp, round, and it had a handle. "cool! a sword." I thought. I quickly, picked it up, and ran into the knight as quick as a whip. When I finally caught up to him, I showed him my sword that I found. After I showed him, he quietly put in his sword case. The case had a blue color with a red stripe on it. "reeds gold mine!" I shout ted to the knight. So we went in there to find gold. first, we went to pan for gold. When we were done panning, I looked in the pan to see wheres the gold. To my surprise, I didn't see anything. So we went to the castle empty handed. Then the castle vanished. I went home to tell my mom what happened. "mom I just returned from a castle. I looked to the right to see wheres the castle. She asked where the castle is. "uuh" I said. So my mom grounded me for a day."
